Why Beauty Sleep Matters

Without a good night’s sleep, it’s hard to be at your best. We all know that not enough sleep can cause you to be tired, grumpy, and forgetful. But did you know that tossing and turning can cause your skin, eyes, lashes, and hair to suffer as well?

It turns out beauty sleep really is important. One of the most common and obvious signs of poor sleep are dark circles under your eyes. Dark circles can instantly change your appearance and cause you to look fatigued. Sleep deprivation can also negatively impact hydration and collagen in the skin. This means that the skin loses elasticity and you can more easily develop wrinkles.

Your eyes are also affected by a lack of sleep. Your eyes can appear more red and swollen causing you to look sad. Your eyelids can become droopy as well. It’s clear that sleep deprivation can prevent you from looking your best.

But what do lashes and hair have to do with beauty rest? Well, tossing and turning in your sleep can be hard on your lashes and your hair. It pulls at your eyelashes causing them to prematurely fall out. Your hair can become tangled in knots which can eventually lead to it becoming matted.
